About Mindful Counseling

The mission of mindful counseling is to provide meaningful, effective, and accessible therapy.

Simply put: I’m here to help. Therapy doesn’t need to be a daunting, mysterious process. It should be simple, but effective. This is what I strive for, from the very first call or email.

I believe meaningful therapy is about meaningful change. It’s not uncommon for clients to share that previous experiences with therapy didn’t seem to “accomplish” very much. They might say something like “All I ever did was vent. It was nice to have someone listen, but I didn’t feel like we actually did anything.” I don’t believe this is what therapy should be like. While there is certainly value in talking about the problem, it’s just as valuable to talk about how you want to see change.

My hope is that after each session, clients not only feel like they’ve been heard, but feel ready to take action steps towards meaningful change.

I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Missouri and a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I’m also a national board-certified counselor (NCC) and certified in dialectical behavior therapy (C-DBT). I have extensive education, training, and experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide variety of mental health concerns. My specialties are mood disorders, problems of emotional regulation, trauma, substance use problems, and LGBT issues.

I graduated from Webster University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I built the foundation of my career working in various treatment centers specializing in substance use disorders. Now, I’m fortunate to work full time in my own private practice. Additionally, I have the opportunity to teach masters-level counseling courses for Webster University.

I have passion for my work and remain grateful for the experiences I’ve had working with people from all walks of life. I look forward to getting to know more about your story.
